Özet: The aim of this study is to determine the general attitudes of science teachers towards socio-scientific issues (SSI) and whether this differs according to gender, age, professional seniority and location of the school. The study group of the research consists of 124 science teachers who work in Kastamonu and participate in the study voluntarily. In this study, in which the scanning method was used, the data were collected through the "Attitude Scale Towards Socio-scientific Issues". Frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, independent t-test and ANOVA were used to analyze the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that science teachers' general attitudes towards SSIs and their attitudes towards sub-dimensions are positive and high. While science teachers' general attitudes towards SSIs and their attitudes towards sub-dimensions differ significantly according to age and professional seniority variables, their attitudes showed a significant difference only in anxiety sub-dimension according to gender variable. In addition, it has been observed that there is a significant difference in the general attitudes of teachers towards SSIs, the attitudes towards the benefit and importance sub-dimension and the liking sub-dimension according to the location of the school. There is no significant difference in their attitudes towards the anxiety sub-dimension according to the location of the school.
