Özet: This study aims to explain the concepts of critical thinking and critical reading, and also aims to introduce an example activity on how to use critical reading in the understanding of scientific texts. The concepts of "critical thinking skills" and "critical reading" were tried to be explained in terms of educational processes. The "text reading" skills that constitute the focus of Turkish lessons have been revised in the perspective of critical reading acquisition. Explanations have been made about how critical reading should be used in science lessons. It was thought that this study may help teachers who want to develop critical reading activities and researchers who want to plan interdisciplinary studies.
