Özet: Derbent, a district of Konya, is recognized and known as a place that has raised many scholars, teacher, and hafizes in its recent past. Hasan Tahsin Emiroğlu is one of those people who grew up in Derbent. Emiroğlu was born and raised in Derbent and received madrasah education in Derbent, Ilgın, and Konya. He also studied in Konya and Kütahya imam-hatip secondary schools, which were opened after the closure of the madrasahs and provided education in new methods. He worked as a teacher in various towns of Konya and some schools in the center for many years, and later served as the Mufti of Konya, Adana, and Bala (Ankara). Emiroğlu caught attention with his meticulousness, effort, and the value he gave to reading and science throughout his life while he was a teacher and a mufti. However, the essential point that made his name mentioned was that he wrote a work called “Esbâb-ı Nüzûl”, which was about the reasons for the descent of the Qur'anic verses and turned into an interpretation during the writing phase. This voluminous work, which received considerable attention and interest in the years it was written, and its author seems to be almost forgotten today. With this study, it was aimed to analyze Emiroğlu's life and works and contribute to the recognition and awareness of Emiroğlu. While preparing the study, Emiroğlu's works were analyzed, some of his family and students were interviewed, and the studies mentioning him and his works were reviewed.
