Özet: Wahshi b. Harb was Abyssinian slave. His master was “Ḏj̲ubayr b. al-Mutʿim” from the tribe of Banū Nawfal. His epithet was Abū Desme. Among his family, only his son Harb is known. He was known with his narration hadith from his father. Most known event in Wahshi’s life was that he martyred Ḥamza b. ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib in the Battle of Uhud. The reason for this Jubayr's desire to avenge his uncle. Wahshi martyred two sahābī (companion) in the Battle of Trench (al-Khandaq). He was excluded from general amnesty during the conquest of Mecca. So, he ran away to Tāʾif. Wahshi took part in the committee sent by the people of Tāʾif to the Prophet. During these negotiations he became a Muslim. The Prophet did not want to see him; therefore, he did not spend much time with Prophet. After the death of the Prophet, he participated in the battle of al-ʿAkrabāʾ in al-Yamāma and he killed false prophet Musaylimatulkadhdhāb in this battle. After this, he participated in bilād al-S̲h̲ām conquests. He was in the battle of al-Yarmūk. He participated in Damascus conquest and he had resided there for a while. Then he settled in Ḥimṣ and died there in the period of Khalifa ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān. Wahshi stated how he martyred Ḥamza and how he killed Musaylimatulkadhdhāb in the narrations in Bukhārī’s Ṣaḥīḥ. He narrated fourteen ahadith in the hadith books such as Bukhārī, Abū Dāwūd, Ibn Māja and Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal.
