Özet: As in all fields of Islamic sciences, many concepts and practices are used in Kalam. It will be difficult to understand the subjects of theology without the understanding of theological concepts, and it will not be possible to identify the sects and the areas in which these sects are allied or separated. There are some differences between the theological concepts of “Mutaqaddimin” and “Mutaakhirin” period. During the period of Mutaakhirin, Muslims who came across other religions and ideas as a result of social, cultural and geographical interaction started to use logic and philosophical concepts. Theologians carried out studies on the basic concepts of theology of all these periods. One of the leading theologians is Abu Bakr Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. al-Isfahani. (330-406). Ibn Fûrek is an important theologian of the period of “Mutaqaddimin”. His el al-Hudud fi’l-Usûl önemli contains important information in the field of fiqh, as well as the concepts of logic and theology. The determinations and definitions of Ibn Fûrek about theological concepts were also considered by the theologians after him. He presented theological concepts in al-Hudud in plain form and with very short descriptions in general. So much so that the concept is merely giving the meaning of the vocabulary. These short definitions of concepts can only be completed by using Ibn Furek’s other works. The aim of this article is to comprehend the meaning of theological concepts of Ibn Fûrek as a theologian of “Mutaqaddimin” to examine these concepts and to examine the contribution of the determinations on this subject to today’s theological studies.
