Özet: Throughout the history of mankind, the representation of good and evil has changed form, and this ancient contrast brought along the varying forms of inventing enemies. Today, many hate speech statements are detected by advanced algorithms of social networks. The act of inventing the enemy appears in many areas of life. The language of diplomacy between states includes mostly hostilely and alienating statements. The subjects of inventing the enemy systematic range from global leaders to TV personalities and fiction characters that we encounter in the prime time zone and also social media influencers. Within the scope of this study, the critical perspective presented in the movie “Gone Girl” was examined in the context of inventing the enemy and hate speech. Semiological analysis method was applied in the study.
