Özet: Medicine and nursing can be defined as important professional fields within the hospital. In addition to being two different professions, physicians and nurses work as a team in the treatment/care process. The discourse, role, social position and status produced by this team’s interaction can be defined as a social construction process. In this study, the relational interaction processes between physicians and nurses are discussed through Pierre Bourdieu's concepts of habitus, symbolic violence, capital, space, illisio and doxa. In this context, the physician-nurse relationship can be perceived not only as an individual interaction, but also as a social phenomenon. On the question of "what do concepts such as capital, ilisio and doxa mean in the interaction between physician and nurse", firstly the professional habitus was examined, then the relationship between the professional field, symbolic violence, illisio and doxa was examined. Defining habitus as "the sum of acquired tendencies", Bourdieu explains that it produces doxas that allow the perpetrator to adapt to the rules of the social world he is in, and illisios that allow the individual to develop various strategies for the situations he encounters. In this sense, the sum of acquired tendencies of physicians and nurses produces doxas that ensure compliance with the rules of the social world and illisios that allow them to develop various strategies. These production processes are significantly affected by the social positions, gender roles, economic, cultural and social capitals of physicians and nurses. In this study, the social context of physicians and nurses interaction is subjected to a Bourdiean analysis.
