Özet: We use plastic in many materials in our daily life. We started using plastic in 1950. This is a very short period of time. Plastic wastes are also distributed to wide area in ecosphere. Research continues on the effect of plastic waste. While the effects of macroplastics on the life of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems can be observed, the effects of microplastics are not fully known. Our aim in this review is to create a general awareness of microplastics and their distribution in the ecosphere, and the possible negative effects of microplastics. It is to make us aware of the possibility that plastic wastes that we use and do not think are eventually come back into our bodies as microplastics
