Özet: This study was planned to determine the relation among tendency to stress, stress symptoms, stress factors, coping styles and age, income level, marital status, occupational status in women with migraine, which is very common in women population of our country. The study included 62 women with migraine. The mean age of women was 37.56±11.32 years with range between 18-61 years. Stress Audit and Coping Styles Inventory were applied to subjects. In addition, relation among scales and marital status, income and educational levels, occupational status of women were investigated According to correlation analysis, negative correlation was found between age and only one of the stress factors-work life; educational level and one of the stress factors-emotional problems. When income levels were investigated, a negative correlation between helpless style of coping tendency to stress, sympatic nerve system problems and emotional problems; a positive correlation between parasympatic nerve system problems and income level were found. T test analysis for marital status indicated a significant difference in only mean score of seeking social support style of coping and showed that married women looked for more social support compared with single women. According to t test analysis about occupational status; working women with migraine had more stress factors related to personal roles compared with not working women with migraine. Although stress is not primary effect of migraine, people with migraine can be affected from stress more due to chronic pain and negative factors related to pain. In addition, factors such as age, educational and income level, marital and occupational status can be determinant in coping styles and stress symptoms.
