Özet: With The importance of using creative drama in education could be explained by using its functions to provide opportunities for interaction and communication with others, to give possibilities to perceive and be adjusted with the community and learn social roles by doing and experiencing for the children. Supporting children with mental retardations to gain social skills promoting social life, creative drama should be used in educational programs for children with mental handicaps, as being used for educational plans for normally developing children. In this context, by this article it is intended to give some examples of applications for techniques used in creative drama such as spontaneous improvisation, puppets, pantomime and storytelling, which could be used for drama applications with children with mental retardations. By this way it is intended to provide some examples of creative drama applications for professionals in the field as well as providing theoretical information
