Özet: Anthropometry is an important issue which is evaluated in the studies of theeffective treatment program planning, ergonomics, sports and work skills.This study was planned with the aim of creating data for future studies inhealthy young by evaluating the features of hand antropometrics accordingto the dominant hand and gender. 201 university students were included inthe study. Age, gender, height, weight and dominant hand of the studentswere recorded. Student t test (paired samples) was used to compareantropometric values of diameter, circumference, length and volume ofdominant and non dominant hand; independent t test was used to compareantropometric values of female and male students. The mean age of thestudents was 21.03±1.53 years; 67 (33 %) were male. When the differencewas significant between both hands of the diameter, circumference andvolume values (p<0.05), there was no difference between length values(p>0.05). Anthropometrics of male students were higher than femalestudents (p<0.05). In our study anthropometrics of dominant hand werehigher than the other hand, it is thought this is because dominant handusing is preferred frequently in daily work. Our study show thatantropometrics vary by gender and this situation should be kept in mind inhand activities. This study is considered that will create a significant database in both healthy and various disease and injury situations by carriyingout in the wider population and age range
