Özet: In the study, the existence of flammable and explosive facilities that pose a danger to flight operations, in the landing-take-off corridor and its immediate surroundings, according to the "Construction Criteria Around Airports" published by the “Sivil Havacılık Genel Müdürlüğü” (General Directorate of Civil Aviation). In this context, it was determined that there are 190 flammable and explosive facilities as a result of the examination of the risk area determined for 60 airports where national and international flights are made in our country. Of these airports, Mardin Airport has the highest number of flammable and explosive facilities in the risky area with 12, while it has been determined that 16 airports do not have such facilities. The average number of flammable and explosive facilities per airport was 3.166 ± 3.157. It is of great importance to take the mentioned facilities out of the risk areas specified in the legislation in order to ensure maximum flight safety. On the other hand, it has been observed that the direction of the airport runways facing the surrounding city and main roads directly affects the risk. For this reason, evaluating this issue in the construction of future airports will contribute to keeping the loss at a minimum level in possible accidents.
