Özet: Known as one of the most successful sultans of the Ottoman Empire, Kanuni Sultan Süleyman is one of the most curious historical person today. In the 2000s, he has been the subject of two separate television series. However, these two series are based on two different types of leaders, although the inspiration is the same. The same leader have been presented to the audience as different leader types. The reason for this differentiation of leader type and therefore the perception of leader is the social, economic and political differences together with the global and local changes. At the end of this differentiation is the invention of the new tradition. The reason why the type of leader that political administrators want to be accepted by the society is presented with historical tv series can be explained in the context of the power of historical fiction to affect the society. In this respect, through this study, it will be revealed that historical fiction affects the current leader image by using deconstruction method.
