Özet: Introduction/Aim: Referred to the relevant institutions and reported levels of occupational diseases in Turkey are far below than expected. Physicians also have responsibilities in this regard. The aim of this study is to evaluate the awareness and approach of all physicians who worked in Ankara Numune Siteler -Furniture Industry Region- Health Center which provide health services including occupational diseases. Material and Methods: An 18-question survey prepared by researchers was applied to all phsicians who worked in Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital Siteler Health Center in the last 1 year. The survey was conducted between June 2018 and September 2018 after obtaining the necessary permits. It is aimed to reach the whole population in the study. Results: 53.3% of physicians from 8 different branches (n: 30) who were willing to participate in the survey stated that while received training on occupational diseases, only one of the trained physicians thought this training was sufficient. While 63.3% of the physicians stated that they did not make any pre-diagnosis of any occupational disease during their professional life, all of the physicians did not report any occupational disease. 63.3% of physicians stated that they had difficulty in identifying occupational diseases as the most common reason why occupational diseases are underreported. Physicians were asked the question "how competent and equipped do you feel about occupational disease management?" and were asked to give a score between 0-10. The median value of the answers was 3 (min.0 max.8) while 80% of the physicians rated themselves 5 points or less. Conclusion: Physicians do not feel sufficient about occupational diseases and they do not find the training enough. It is understood that there are deficiencies in the all branches’ physicians’ approach to occupational diseases in their daily practice. Therefore, physicians should be aware of this issue and new studies are needed to determine this situation.
