Özet: Occidentalism derives from the word "occident", which literally means the West. The word "Occidental" is met with the expressions "Western, belonging to the West". This concept generally means the East's perception of the West and the West studies. Occidentalism can be expressed as the liberation movement of the East against the mentality of orientalism. The view of the Turkish world to the West generally shows an occidentalist structure. Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, one of the important names of the Turkish literature undertakes a key task in this regard. In his novel Aynadaki Yalan (The Lie in The Mirror), Necip Fazıl criticizes the intellectual type who moves away from his own values and misunderstands Westernization. In the novel, the author tells the story of the intellectuals who are alienated from their essence and become false Westerners return to their own values. After seeing the true face of the West, Naci, the protagonist of the novel, undergoes a transformation and returns to its core values. The aim of this article is to discuss Necip Fazıl Kısakürek's novel Aynadaki Yalan, in the context of occidentalism.
