Özet: The effects of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% dried poultry excreta supplementation on rumen fermentation and blood parameters in Akkaraman lambs were investigated in the control group, group I, group II and group III respectively. Twenty-six Akkaraman lambs, 5.5-6 months-old, weighing 30 kg were used. They were fed in four groups. The blood and rumen contents were determined at 20-day intervals and the experimental period lasted 80 days. At the 20 th day, there were a significant differences among the four groups in pH, ammonia, urease activity, total volatile fatty acids and urea-N values of ruminal fluid. However, there were no statistical differences in these values among the groups at the end of the experiment. A significant increase in the total buffer capacity of the ruminal fluid was found in the group containing 30% dried poultry excreta (p £ 0.01). Feeding with dried poultry excreta caused a significant increase in the uric acid and total nitrogen values of the ruminal fluid (p £ 0.01). There was no statistical difference between groups in terms of serum glucose, urea-N, uric acid, creatinine, total proteins, free fatty acid and bood keton bodies values. It could be concluded that dried poultry excreta added to the rations as a nitrogen source had a positive effect on the nitrogen metabolis in the rumen, although had no effect on the fermentation quality of rumen or on blood parameters.
