Özet: In this study, mitral valves, left ventricle volume and myocardial contractibility indices in English racing (n:30) and show-jumping horses (n:30) were investigated using M-mode echocardiography. The percentages of fractional shortening (% EF), ejection fraction (% EF), and the mean velocity of circumferential shortening (Vcf) were determined on each of three transducer positions. Mitral valve amplitude and slope measurements on transducer III position and left ventricle volume measurements on transducer I, II and III positions were taken and the average of all measurements were calculated.
