Özet: This article focuses on the comparative history method as a new approach in urban history. Comparative history analyses ideas and institutions in different societies. Various topics can be studied in terms of comparative history such as countries, cities, civilizations, institutions, revolutions and ideologies. Comparative history method can also be used to make research on urban history. This article gives an overall perspective on both urban history and comparative history method and then discusses recent problems on the latter’s practice.
