Özet: The thought of Modern Urbanism came into existence to remove the physical and social aftermaths of industrial revolution. This thought adopted the rational-comprehensive principles in planning and functionalism and “purisme” in architecture. The Modern Urbanism, which had been influential during  a considerable part of twentieth century, supposed that building a new city in a rational way meets with a new type of person. This thought was faced with the accusations that it disregarded the life styles of people and so it has been under the lash of criticism since the mid-twentieth century.
