Özet: This paper aims to elaborate on the spatial practices of the music industry within the dynamics of globalization. Accordingly, the writing focuses on one of the main interlocutors of Istanbul’s music corporation, Pozitif, and the musical space it has created called Babylon at the Asmalımescit neighborhood. Thus, on the one hand, Babylon –as well as the neighborhood where it is situated- is analyzed in terms of Lefebvre’s ‘representational spaces’ and Soja’s ‘Third Space’; whereas on the other hand, the chosen case study is problematized in line with the political economy of the global capital flows. Furthermore, the aspect of rhythm is also examined under the discussions of everyday life, as well as within the reconsideration of the relationship between space and sound.
