Özet: In this paper, beginning from the early republican period, I will discuss how Ankara has been imagined as an empty city and then, constructed with the tools of forgetting. Acts of forgetting and remembering are significant in the construction of the space of the representation and the collective memory. Here, I will focus only the act of forgetting and its tools, namely to empty and to make other in order to argue how Ankara has been constructed by forgetting the previous, and then it becomes an empty city that cannot be filled in.
