Özet: Gated communities arise as a reflection of this perception of terrorism that can not be contained. A new way of life, behind the walls against the disorder in the city center, means purchasing a sense of 'ontological security'. Ontological security provides parrying the anxiety caused by an uncertain structure and creating a stable world. Directed by Rodrigo Pla, La Zona offers some clues about the social content of the gated communities, reveals the fragility carried by marketed stability of gated communities, and indicates that social segregation and inequality have reached a radical phase. The residents’ sterile lives free from the public fate, hysterical reaction against the dirty invaders, and the reflections of the obvious transformation in the perception of security in society constitute the aspects of La Zona worth analyzing.
