Özet: Since 2005, a relatively new product has entered İstanbul’s real estate market: vertical gated communities. The visibility of this product had an irreversible effect on İstanbul’s silhouette. After a long centrifugal tendency, residences signal a new era of gated communities. They also restructure upper classes relationship with the urban center. Rising along with offices, hotels and shopping malls, residences are signs of a new codification of the urban center and restructuring of the urban lifestyles.
