Özet: A relationship between space and identity/difference is almost always established. This stems from the fact that spaces are not only physical entities but are complex and multi-faceted structures embodying historical, cultural, identification and imaginary dimensions. Urban spaces (cinemas, entertainment venues, restaurants, hotels, museums, galleries, parks, etc.) which reflect the city’s social and cultural surface in its spatial cartography are not merely the islands of cultural association but also form the city’s descriptive indications, cultural identities or its historical sides. Many cities are known for certain spatial imageries and remembered as a magnet attracting large crowds. What attracts the masses to these places actually is the city’s socio-cultural depth, signs of memory and identification elements ascribed to its members and to the city. In an attempt to collect them and turn them into the handles of existential space, natives turn these spaces into a “house”, “shelter”.  This paper will attempt to clarify cultural and identification decisiveness of urban spaces through city image.
