Özet: City squares are last and one of the most important examples of urban open space which take place in different forms in every society and every historical period. Most of the studies on this subject was made by urban planners and architects, and deal with the issue in regard with the relationship between the city squares and their users, the shape of square as an urban form and other elements shapes the squares. The starting point of this thesis is the notion of looking at city square phenomenon from the perspective of sociology created by space and space created by sociology and culture.
