Özet: With a population of nearly 2 million people Bursa is Turkey's fourth largest city today. As capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa has got a long and rich history in which migration has always played an important role. Although the existence of Germans in this history has been neglected largely until now, Germans have always been part of this mosaic. In this article I will discuss Germans living in Bursa today. My article is outlined as followed: In section one I will give a general overview of migration to Turkey. Then I will specifically focus on German citizens, who have migrated to Turkey (section two). In this context I will also highlight for what reasons German citizens have come to Turkey and where they have settled. By doing so I will underline that the migration of Germans to Bursa can be seen in a general migration trend of Germans. In sections three and four I will tough upon the life worlds of Germans from Bursa. My findings are mainly based on empirical data obtained from interviews with Germans living in Bursa today.
