Özet: The study has been done upon modernism and its effects in Isparta, a medium scaled Anatolian City. In universalism while modernism has been lived in the World, it is put forward of taking part of modernism in urban culture and architecture in how and what degree in Turkey and also Isparta. The effects of modernism on urban culture in Isparta between 1950 and 1975 and the potential of constituting of typology have been examined with the components of City Image of Lynch such as paths, edges, districts, nodes and landmarks. These urban elements have been not only oriented to create image but gave information with what lived in urban culture in modernism as well. In the dimension of constituting typology to the urban architecture, the study has importance in presenting the architecture of that period and the effects of it to the architecture in these days. In the study, visual, structural, functional and spatial criteria are analyzed in the systematic way of Lynch’s urban image analysis with the usage of maps. In the research, the subject of not scrutinizing an important period in Isparta only in the specific to the buildings has been emphasized and also it has been stated that considering the image elements which forms the city such as paths, edges, districts, nodes and landmarks have made the research original. Instead of analyzing in the scale of the identity of singular building, commenting the traces in the cultural background of the society whom lived in the city will present more extensive results.
