Özet: Urban archaeological sites with excavation, documentation, maintanence and presentation works have great importance in urban conservation. Especially in cities which have been settled by different civilizations constantly, integration of archeological areas to the modern life needs creative solutions and approaches. Reflecting the stratification and providing modern citys’ development together should be the main aim of these approaches. Recently, works have focused on presentation of stratification of cultural heritage to the public. It is accepted internationally that these works should be carried out with the participation of different disciplines. There are lots of outstanding projects in European contries. However in Turkey, historical stratification are under threat because of many reasons but mainly lack of dialogue among the different disciplines. Even though there are cities that lost the traces of historical stratification, there are still some settlements with different historical layers. Foça is one of the multi-layered cities with several historical periods; Prehistoric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Genoese and Ottoman-Turkish period respectively. City have archaeological data from both underground and aboveground. In this study, historical stratification of Foça was analyzed and multi-layered identity areas were determined with the help of superposing different layer maps. Megaron area have distinguished among these multi-layered identity areas and three different presentation approaches were proposed. These approches were evaluated by authors according to perception, intervention, information and accesibility. Evaluation results have revealed that each approach has the unique problems and potential. Integration of multilayered areas should be the main purpose for all approaches and this integration also gives city an identity.
