Özet: 'Integrated conservation’ involves the protection of the historical fabric and environment with its entire elements and dimensions, while, for  the purpose of maintaining the sustainability, it also requires  the implementation of legal and administrative measures involving strategies that improve the public’s social and economic structures  and create employment and added value. These measures necessitate solutions involving multi-dimensional strategies with interdisciplinary studies. Within this context, tourism constitutes one of the important strategies in terms of feeding economic welfare and employment opportunities. However, tourism; when developed rapidly and in an uncontrolled  manner without  the preparation of tourism development plans and / or conservation plans, affect adversely  and harm the archaeological, urban and natural conservation areas, cultural and natural properties  as well as  unique social  and cultural values which comprise the character of traditional settlements, whether they are subject to conservation or not. Concretion induced by rapid housing, unintended functional changes and inappropriate interventions thereof, changes in public’s life culture due to negative social and cultural impacts, unfair economic revenue, adverse impacts over local people’s production and life style may be referred as damages in this respect. Within the context of this study, samples were selected from urban and rural areas from Turkey’s different coastal regions which were introduced to tourism without any plan; and the problems encountered thereof were examined in the basis of construction, area and the user, then the determinations made in this respect were discussed and introduced by the support of various area surveys, questionnaire and scientific statistics.
