Özet: The aim of the study is to determine and compare the competitiveness in the textile sector of Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Turkey, which are candidates for the European Union. In the analysis of the study, the export data set of 26, 65 and 84 coded textile sectors within the scope of STIC rev. 3 classification and 24 third level textile sub- sectors under SITC Rev 2 codes were used. The Balassa index, one of the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) methods, was used in the analysis for the 2010-2020 period. The data used in the analysis were obtained from the Comtrade database. As a result of the analysis it has been determined that Albania is in a disadvantageous position in 14 product groups while Serbia 16, Montenegro 21, North Macedonia 13 and Turkey are in a disadvantageous position in 6 product groups. In addition, in the analysis it has been determined that Serbia has a weak advantage in 5 product groups, North Macedonia 6 and Turkey in 5 product groups. It has been determined that Albania specializes in 2 product groups, Serbia and North Macedonia 1, and Turkey specializes in 5 product groups moderately. Finally, it has been determined that Albania has a strong advantage in 4 product groups, Serbia 1, North Macedonia 2 and Turkey 8 product groups and specialize in these product groups.
