Özet: The atrocities and oppression against the Turks on the island of Cyprus increased in intensity after 1960, and the Turks were besieged with the event that went down in history as Bloody Christmas. In order to protect the rights of the Turkish Cypriots, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, İsmet İnonu, aimed to ensure calming the problems through peaceful means as one of the guarantor countries however, military measures came to the fore at points where diplomacy could not be a solution. The Turkish army made partial interventions to protect the rights of Turkish Cypriots. The traces of the reflections of Cyprus events that took place in the 1960s have been preserved in the State archives of the Republic of Turkey. In this study, the following points will be discussed: the bombing of mosques and tombs in Nicosia in 1962, how Turkish Cypriots perceived Turkey, Greece and Makarios administration’s attitude towards the events in Cyprus and the repercussions of the news in Athens and Cyprus press and Turkish Foreign Policy on Cyprus in 1964, and when the Turkish army's intervention to the Island would occur.
