Özet: In this study, it is aimed to compare the scores of 9th grade students from the basic scientific facts scale -created by the researchers- and their demographic information. In this study survey model is used. The study was carried out with 323 students in total. Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used in the analysis of the data within the scope of the SPSS program. In the light of the data obtained, the difference between female and male students in terms of basic scientific facts scale scores in favor of female students was not found statistically significant. Students with high secondary school graduation grade point averages have 70 points and above on the basic scientific facts scale than those with low. This difference is statistically significant. The scores of the students with 70 points and above averages in the 8th grade science course are higher than the students with low scores on the basic scientific facts scale. This difference was found to be statistically significant. The average differences between the scores of 9th grade students obtained from the basic scientific facts scale according to their mother's education status were not found significant as a result of the analysis. A significant difference was found between the scores of the students whose fathers were high school graduates from the basic scientific facts scale and the students whose fathers were primary and secondary school graduates in favor of the students whose fathers were high school graduates. On the other hand, a significant difference was found between the scores of the students whose fathers were university graduates on the basic scientific facts scale and the students whose fathers were primary and secondary school graduates in favor of the students whose fathers were university graduates. Some suggestions have been developed based on the results of the study. Based on the results obtained in the study, suggestions are included.
