Özet: This study was written in order to gain a holistic view of environmental protests that came to the fore in the world media as news and documentary. Nowadays, although the sources of news have been strengthened due to communication technologies, the flow of data, news and information can sometimes be complex or disorganized, making it difficult to integrate a glance. Although there is visibility of relevant news in news networks or social media, its discernability is controversial. This study reveals what kind of reactions about the environmental problems in different cultures in an integrated perspective and cultural aspects. In order to create a stronger impact on environmental problems, it is more important than how environmental actions are performed, who participates in these actions, the impact of mass media on these actions, the manner in which the actions are discussed, and the philosophy of the actions beyond this. In this study, the scope of the world media in Turkey, the Turkish broadcasting Sputnik (Russia), Deutsche Welle (Germany), Euronews (France) and BBC (England), such as global news channels in the last 10-year period of environmental actions they communicate is focused on the cultural characteristics The study focuses on the communication forms of the world media (through the channels above) and makes a cultural reading on the countries in which the actions are carried out, on which environmental problems are focused on, how the actions are performed and how the mass media are used in the actions. Within the scope of the documentary, besides the independent productions, the content is focused on digital platforms such as Netflix and Youtube. In this way it will be possible for people to gain a stronger environmental awareness.
