Özet: It is known that the myths based on the ancient history have a religious, social, moral and educational dimension. Legends, especially because of the miraculous events they have, have a permanent place in minds in terms of their effects. In this way, even if their reality is questioned, they have a quality that creates vitality in life and nourishment of oral culture.In this respect, it is beneficial to benefit from the narrative tradition of the legends that is considered as a fictional type. It can be said that things such as the good and bad concepts they carry and the benefits of the good things ultimately make them profitable play an important role in the transfer of some educational messages. The "Kızıl Ziyaret Legend" belonging to the Mus region, carries a number of educational messages in the mentioned direction. According to the narrative, the myth takes place on the Kurtic Mountains in the south of Mus. The representations of events and characters that are realized in the legend support some values. In the spirit of a divine aid, the bad are unable to attain their evil aims, and the good become legend because of their preference. From this point of view, we can say that the legend belonging to Mus region is a positive example for character development in the education of children and young people.
