Özet: The main topic of this study is the effects of the use of digital media tools (computer, internet, tablet, smartphone) on the development and school success of children aged 6-12. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the effects of the use of digital media tools on children's development as well as the attitudes, views and approaches of mothers in the use of digital media tools in children between 6-12 years of age. The study was conducted based on interview technique within the scope of qualitative research method. The study sample consisted of a total of 15 women living in three neighborhoods in downtown Batman that differed in terms of socio-economic indicators. Analysis of the data in the study shows that women who have children in the age range of 6-12 focus on the negative effects of digital media tools on children. Participants noted that the use of digital media tools had a significant impact on their children's success in school. In addition, it has been found that the impact of the family's economic situation on children's use of digital media tools is not as distinctive as it used to be. It has been observed that there are differences between the views, attitudes and approaches exhibited by mothers in the use of digital media tools by children and the methods they develop to protect children from the negative effects of digital media tools.
