Özet: Present study aimed to analyze parents’ communication with their children who do sports or don’t. The study was designed as a cross-sectional quantitative descriptive study and 124 parents voluntarily participated in the study. To collect data “Parent and children communication scale” was used. The scale was initially developed by Kahraman in 2016. The scale has 27 items and 5 factors. In the analysis of the data Chi Square and MANOVA were used in the 95% confidence level. In conclusion, present study showed that the child’s sport status makes a positive difference in parent and child communication, however, the fact that the parent's sports background does not make any difference.
