Özet: The aim of this study is to examine the factors affecting the motivation of Physical Education teachers towards the distance Physical Education course conducted during the pandemic process. Seven Physical Education teachers participated in this study, which was carried out with a qualitative research approach. In this study, in which a phenomenological design was used, the data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. Content analysis was applied to analyze the data obtained. As a result of the content analysis, it was observed that student participation in the distance Physical Education course had a positive effect on the motivation of some teachers and a negative effect on some teachers. In addition to student participation, it was concluded that students 'disregard for distance Physical Education lesson decreased teachers' motivation. The positive and negative aspects of the distance Physical Education lesson were expressed by the teachers and their effects on teachers' motivation levels were examined. In addition, within the scope of the research, the suggestions of Physical Education teachers that could increase teacher motivation towards distance education were also examined. Suggestions such as giving more place to theoretical subjects in the distance Physical Education lessons, improving the system and connection problems and raising the awareness of the society about the importance of distance education were expressed. As a result, it was observed that the motivation levels of the Physical Education teachers participating in the study were generally high for the distance Physical Education course during the Covid-19 pandemic. It can be said that one of the most important reasons for this is that the risk of catching the Covid-19 virus and transmitting it to their families is reduced by distance Physical Education lessons.
