Özet: In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the proficiency levels of trainers and narcissistic personality traits, which are thought to have effects in the sports environment. The working group consists of a total of 202 trainers, 122 of whom are men, 80 of whom are women, working in different branches (archery, taekwondo, fitness, athletics, swimming, football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey). In the study, Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), which was adapted to Turkish by Atay (2009), Coach Proficiency Scale-II, which Unutmaz and Gençer (2017) adapted to Turkish by making validity and reliability .and Personal Information Form was used. During the analysis process, the T-Test was used to compare paired groups, ANOVA and Post Hoc Tukey Tests were used to compare three or more independent groups. Pearson Corelation analysis was used to reveal the relationship between coaching competency levels and narcissistic personality traits. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that female coaches had higher values in the dimension of physical condition and game strategies, and male coaches in the dimension of character formation. (p <0.05). It was determined that there is no significant difference between the proficiency levels individual and team sports coaches (p> 0.05). While a significant correlation was determined between the narcissistic personality (exploitative, authority, and superiority) traits and their competence levels (p <0.05), it was determined that there was no significant relationship between the other characteristics of the narcissistic personality (exhibitionism, claiming rights, and self-efficacy) and trainer efficacy levels ( p> 0.05).
