Özet: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the usage frequencies of listening/monitoring strategies of secondary school students in terms of various variables. For this purpose, answers were sought to the questions at what level the frequencies of listening/monitoring strategies of secondary school students are, whether they differ significantly depending on the grade level, school type and gender. The scanning model that aims to reveal an existing situation was used in the study. The study group consists of 403 secondary school students who continue their education in public and private schools in the city center of Muş. The data were collected in the spring term of 2018-2019 academic year with the participation of the researcher. "Secondary School Students’ Listening/Monitoring Strategies Usage Frequency Scale", developed by Doğan and Erdem (2017), was used as the data collection tool. Data were analyzed by using a statistical program (SPSS for Windows 22.0). In the study, while the frequency of using listening/monitoring strategies of middle school students differed significantly according to the variables of their grade level and gender, it did not differ significantly according to the variable of the type of school they were educated. The results obtained were discussed in line with the literature and suggestions were about presented.
