Özet: Sultan Salah al-Din gave great care and attention to knowledge and scholars, giving them both moral and material encouragement. He was known to attend their lessons and actively participate in them. He understood that one of the reasons for achieving victory against the Shitte, Batini and the Crusader was the presence of a devout leadership that can move the Ummah with the grace of God towards its set goals in steady steps. Salah al-Din was fully convinced of the importance of such devout scholars within his ranks. As such, he knew that liberating the land and uniting them was not only a political or military action. Together with his interest in scholars, he revitalised the cultural and intellectual scene during his reign. Thus, he became one of the builders of the scholarly renaissance, and the protectors of its pioneers in his era. One of the scholars described it as "the era of revival of Islamic and Arab thought and culture, just as it was an era of political revival". He assigned scholars and authors to high positions in his state and council, including through the presence of the virtuous judge, minister, counsellor Abd al-Rahim al-Bisani amongst other scholars. They have contributed to a history full of heroic action, the most prominent of which was the return of Bayt al-Maqdis to the hands of Muslims again. This study aims to discuss the personal and practical life of the virtuous judge Abd al-Rahim al-Bisani, as well as demonstrating the leader Salah al-Din to be an individual in the entity of the Ummah as part of the integrated whole. Al-Bisani, as one such prominent member, contributed with his pen and work to the liberation of Bayt al-Maqdis. Learning from his biography and life is urgently needed for our present time to confront the Zionist occupation.
