Özet: ar enيلقي البحث الضوء على ثلاثة نماذج لمراحل مختلفة من عمر الدولة العثمانية التي تربعت على القارات الثلاث وعمرت أكثر من ست قرون، وحكمت الكثير من القوميات العرقية والملل الدينية والثقافات المختلفة. وسيتم دراسة ثلاث محطات نموذجية في علاقة الدولة العثمانية بالأقليات من خلال استقراء فرمان محمد الفاتح لسكان منطقة غلطة كنموذج للأمان وفرمان السلطان سليم الأول لنصارى بيت المقدس كنموذج للتسامح وأخيرا سيناقش البحث دور السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني في تقليص حجم دور اليهود في بيت المقدس ضمن التصدي للمشروع الصهيوني.
