Özet: arتتناول هذه الدراسة مسألة الأقليات الدينية في بيت المقدس، ودورها في ميزان الصراع بين العثمانيين والأوربيين من سنة 1516 إلى سنة 1916. وقد تم تحليل هذه الدراسة من خلال مبحثين أساسيين هما:  أولا الظروف التاريخية والسياسية التي تم فيها فتح القدس من قبل العثمانيين. وتحدثنا عن أهم الأقليات الدينية في القدس وموقف الدولة العثمانية تجاهها. أما في المبحث الثاني فقد تطرقنا إلى الفعاليات والأنشطة التي كانت تمارسها هذه الأقليات الدينية، والمدراس التبشيرية بالتعاون مع الدول الأجنبية وقنصلياتها الموجودة في القدس، والدور الذي لعبته في الصراع الذي دار بين العثمانيين والأوروبين بداية من القرن الثامن عشر. وقد اعتمدنا في تحليلنا لهذه الدراسة على الوثائق العثمانية الموجودة في أرشيف رئاسة الورزاء في استانبول.
