Özet: Air transport in European trade has an important place in terms of reaching the target points economically and quickly, in line with the targets of products and services in the markets. The demand for this type of transportation is increasing day by day, the increase in demand escalates the competition. In order for the air transport industry to respond quickly to such a demand and to respond to this demand in an economical way; there is a need to manage all activities effectively in the sector, which raises the need for businesses to make predictions about the future. The idea of having an idea about the future of the airline companies operating in the developed economies of the European Union requires a close examination of the economic development, structure and functioning of the European Union. In this context, the subject of the study is the question of which developed economies and within which framework they shaped is also important. The predictions about the future of airline companies operating within the framework of these economies formed the essence of the research. The main purpose of this study is to examine the current position and future of the airline companies of the developed European Union economies in European trade. In addition to the main purpose, it was determined as a sub-objective to examine the issues that airline companies should pay attention while shaping their future. A qualitative research was conducted to obtain in-depth data for these purposes. The universe of the study is the developed airline companies of the EU economies. The study, in which the sector is in question and the future of this sector is examined for the first time on these aspects; It is aimed to fill an important gap in the field in terms of contributions to the scientific literature.
