Özet: Today, in addition to applying power to another state through military or economic sanctions, states use soft power as a different method in foreign policy. One of the many sources of soft power is food. In this context, the purpose of the study is to examine the food offered in the menus of first class restaurants in Istanbul and to investigate whether Istanbul is affected by food in the terms of soft power. The TripAdvisor website was used to determine the first class restaurants in Istanbul. According to the data obtained from the 82 restaurants included in the study, it was seen that the majority of the restaurants are those that offer Turkish or international cuisine. However, it was concluded that most of the restaurants serve with Turkish or English restaurant names. In addition, it has been concluded that most of the restaurant menus include Turkish dishes, but also dishes from Italian and Far Eastern cuisine are frequently found. The findings obtained helped develop recommendations for restaurant operators and researchers.
