Özet: education started, landscape architecture education has become widespread in various universities around the world and has become an important professional discipline over a century. This was mostly due to urbanization, planning needs and environmental problems, which have increased especially in the last 50 years. Landscape architecture education in Turkey first began in 1968 at Ankara University, and have reached up to 41 undergraduate and 27 associate degree programs today. Undergraduate programs are located in 58 public and 3 private foundation universities, under 9 different institutions which are named from 5 main field topics including art-fine arts, architecture, engineering, forest and agriculture. Associate degree education in Turkey is carried out within vocational colleges such as technical sciences, forestry and agriculture, and some programs take place in more than one college in the same university. In addition, many universities have postgraduate education (master's and doctoral) programs. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the actual condition of the landscape architecture programs in Turkey along with their student enrollment, location, regional distribution, to examine the requirements and foundation principles, and to evaluate the obtained findings in comparison with the international landscape architecture education. Findings obtained in the study would contribute to the landscape architecture education in our Turkey.
