Özet: Economic production power is the main point of the development levels of the countries. One of the most important inputs required for production is energy. The concept of energy comes to the forefront as a multidimensional issue for all states from the past to the present. In this context, it covers a multivariate structure not only economically and financially, but also in terms of public policies as a broad subject with political and socio-cultural reflections. There is a rapid change in energy diversity and related trade in the world and in our country recently. Understanding this change and keeping pace with possible policy changes for future periods has the potential to have a direct impact on the development of countries. In this study, energy markets and related public policies are tried to be discussed in a general framework. Following a general conceptual framework on energy, energy policies are tried to be addressed in the world and especially within the EU where Turkey is a candidate country. In the last section, energy policies of our country are tried to be transferred from a historical point of view, and future perspectives are tried to be examined.
