Özet: Since its establishment, the Ottoman Empire has a tax system based on ecclesiastics law and customary law and unique financial structure. As the Ottoman Empire has a cosmopolitan structure, there were many problems about taxation that caused by taxpayers and/or public administration. Many troubles caused from these had reflected to court and the muslim judges had solved them. In addition, since the muslim judges have also been a notary and tax inspector, the relationship between public administration and taxpayers or between taxpayer and taxpayer has always registered and sometimes certified. In this study, considerable financial events, recording by the Court of Üsküdar during the 16th century, will be commentated and socio-economical analysis of them will be done.
