Özet: Border trade in our country arose in order to decrease the using of currency against increasing of the world oil prices. For this purpose, border trade first began with Iran intended for oil trade. However, it turned into a special trade regime with modified and reformed applications. Nowadays, it is used as an economic development policy for some regions. With the border trade, region requirements are met in a shorter time by removing procedures which are required for foreign trade regime. Furthermore, goods with the advantages of tax are imported with lower value. Thus, creating an economic activity by accelerating the trade of underdeveloped regions and making locals enterpreneurs are aimed. In this study; border trade in Turkey, problems in implementation and goal-oriented proposals are discussed
