Özet: Turkey has a very defective topography, which is located on the Alpine orogenesis mountain belt and become close to today in the Quaternary period. The fact that our country is located on such a topography makes it possible to see the high mountainous areas, the deep valleys and the steep slopes in our country. The formation or disappearance of some landforms in this environment is an inevitable reality. The Landslide dammed lakes are also such mountainous, hilly, high slope value lakes, in short, formed on defective topographies. These lakes are natural water accumulation areas formed by a mass moving by means of special conditions in the topography by cutting the river bed. The Kop (Akburak) landslide dammed lake, formed by the mass of landslides, by cutting the front of a river bed, on Kop Mountain between Bayburt and Aşkale offers different characteristics from both our country and the surrounding dammed lakes in terms of topographic, climatic and vegetative conditions. In addition, there is no study in the literature in the area where this lake was formed and its immediate surroundings.The aim of this study is to introduce the Kop (Akburak) landslide dammed lake to the literature and to lead the further studies. In this study, the current situation of the lake, its formation conditions, and whether it will be permanent will be evaluated. This is also one of the first studies to be conducted on a landslide dammed lake with the help of the indexes in Turkey makes it important in this respect. The consistency of the geomorphological indexes in this lake sample has been tried to be determined. For this purpose; Blockage, Impoundment, Dimensionless Blockage, Morphological Obstruction and Hydromorphological Dam Stability indixes were used in the study. For the research, 1 / 25.000 scaled topography maps of the research area were digitized with Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The volume calculations, the basin assessments, and the analysis on the slope values were made on GIS. These analyzes were also supported by Remote Sensing programs (HGM Küre and Google Earth Pro). During the field studies, the measurements were made with GPS, the altimeter, the laser meter and the photographs were taken with the camera equipment. All these data obtained have been interpreted by evaluating the geomorphological indexes of Kop (Akburak) landslide dammed lake. As a result of the evaluations made in the study area; Kop (Akburak) Lake was classified as Unstable Landslide dammed lake in terms of Blockage Index, Dimensionless Blockage Index, Impoundment Index, and Morphological Obstruction Index. However, it was classified in Instability Domain in terms of Hydromorphological Set Lake Continuity Index.
