Özet: Today, the Covid 19 pandemic has taken over the entire world. It has been reported that the elderly are the most affected by this epidemic. In addition, it is possible to state that the discriminatory attitudes and behaviors faced by the elderly increased even more during the epidemic. The aim of this study is to reveal the effect of discriminatory attitudes and behaviors towards the elderly on the rights that are considered to that the older people are most affected during the Covid-19 epidemic. The rights of the elderly examined in the study are the right to freedom and security of the person, the right to be protected and respected against all kinds of abuse and maltreatment, the right to education, the right to work, the right to participate in political, social and cultural life, and the right to benefit from health services. These rights are considered to be the most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. In the study, firstly, a literature review including the Covid-19 epidemic and human rights, the Covid-19 epidemic and rights of the elderly was conducted. Then, the effect of discriminatory attitudes and behaviors towards the elderly on the rights that are thought to be most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic were evaluated. As a result of this evaluation, suggestions were made to ensure that the elderly experience the Covid-19 epidemic in more favorable conditions and that their rights are not violated during the Covid-19 epidemic.
